Weird scenario and a question

Last night just before bed.
Jordan : Daddy, Mommy - do you call a group of little boys and girls “children”?
Me : Yes
Jordan : and “kids” also?
Me : Yes. However if they’re all boys only, you call them boys. If there are only girls, you call them girls. If there are boys and girls together, you can just call them “children” or “kids”.
Jordan : Ohh… but what if the boys pretend to be girls and the girls pretend to be boys? What do you call them?
* I wanted to answer “troubled children” but…
Me : still - you call them “children”.
