Jordan’s first visit to the dentist
Posted by Jeffrey on May 2, 2008
I’m sure many adults have this phobia of going to the dentist, me included but Jordan has completely surprised me and my wife. He showed tremendous courage and positive attitude when we set him up with a dentist. We didn’t tell him it will not hurt but at the same time, we didn’t scare him off either. We just tell him to expect the worse and probably he will cry.
I took video of his first experience on the dentist chair. See my brave boy!
During this first session, he had 2 fillings done at the back of his mouth. Actually there were 5 fillings altogether but the dentist saw his hand gripping the arm rest so she told us she will continue with the other 3 during the next session. Fortunately Jordan was very brave and obediently sat on the chair again without any hesitation on the 2nd visit!
Dr Elaine Lee was also very supportive and talked Jordan through it. I think that helped calm his nerves in addition to the tv monitor showing cartoons right above him.
I was really inspired by this boy so on the 2nd time, I also sat on the chair to check mine, since my last visit more than half a year ago. Nasib no problem!
What about you? When was the last time you visited the dentist?
