Our Ben 10 Project

Over the weekend, Jordan was really into Ben 10. It is a cartoon series shown over Cartoon Network. The fact that Jordan never watched that channel other than Playhouse Disney and Nickoledeon made us wonder what happened in school on Friday.

Anyway, Jordan kept wearing his Omnitrix toy watch (Ben 10’s wrist watch) that we bought for him last month and was asking me to show him some pictures and movies of his latest hero over the web. He liked the following picture so much that he asked me to print it out and he coloured it.

Seeing his excitement over that, I told him “You know, daddy can print a picture like that but you become Ben 10“.

His face light up and replied “Can ah daddy? Please do it daddy oh purdy purdy pleaseeee“.

How lah you want to ignore with a request like that? And he still kept saying purdy instead of pretty hehe.

So that was how our Ben 10 project got started. Click on the following link to see how our project went!

First, I took a picture of him with his Omnitrix. This seemingly simple task was made hard as Jordan couldn’t set his face straight and serious. He was always trying to control his laughter most of the time.

The following was the best picture of him with the most serious expression. Tengok tu lips, senget sudah.

Then, using photoshop, I removed the background, transformed his tee shirt and made his eyes green (actually I didn’t want to but he insisted on it).

Combined it with Ben 10’s poster and walla!

Jordan requested for the 2 aliens to be placed there. I can confidently say that I have one proud and satisfied “client”. I printed that in color and Jordan has placed it at the centre of the fridge, I felt a little bit guilty as he moved the other colored pictures to the side, it is officially his prized possession now!

I just love seeing his face lights up - he even wanted to bring that to school but I’m afraid the other kids will want the same thing and their daddies can’t do it (my ego flying high). So I will have to tell him no.

Nothing like a good photoshop skills to impress your kid hehe.
