Malaysia’s “Safe List” milk-based products

Date Posted by Jeffrey on September 26, 2008

Even after the assurance from the Health Minister last week that no products in Malaysia contains milk from China, the scale of this episode has grown global and now the ministry is forced to take all dairy products for testing and analysis.

I’ve gone to the Bahagian Keselamatan dan Kualiti Makanan (Food Safety & Quality Section) under the Health Ministry website to get the list of safe products. However the site is too slow, I guess too many people are flocking there.

Anyway, I managed to download the latest ‘Safe List‘ and I am sharing them here in case you’re having problem downloding from the government’s site.

Right-click on the following link and save it to your computer:

Malaysia Products Free from Melamine (PDF File. 427KB)

Visit the website for latest updates: http://fsq.moh.gov.my/modules/news/

Remember to be extra careful with “free hampers” or really extra cheap food being sold in the supermarket or grocery stores.

What do you mean by all products? or is it only china products. Please refer to this blog because this guy is asking the same question. http://consumersrighteousness.blogspot.com/

“ministry is forced to take all dairy products for testing and analysis”, can you please confirm this statement because I think you got the wrong information. What the goverment did so far is only verified the warranty from most of the companies on the safe list. There were no actual lab tests or analysis. Read here http://consumersrighteousness.blogspot.com/ this guy make sense and i believe the guarantee is not from our goverment.

This list helped me a bit Jeff. The list in indonesia kena “copy” from Malaysia and Singapore. Didnt really check per item thoroughly themselves. Anyway, its still alarming considering a lot of the dairy products here are from China. Maybe they missed out item.

Btw, I liked the milk candy,…. aaww man!

Hi Thomas, sorry your comment was tagged as spam, I was checking akismet plugin and just saw your entries today.

Anyway, I got my information from reading the star online and the PDF file is taken from the govt website. Since it is from a govt website, I would believe that the guarantee is from the govt.

I wouldn’t know if they actually test the products in the labs and I’m not here to question things, people who work closer to the health ministry should know and should speak out if they know of any wrong-doing (or wrong in not doing).

Thanks for the link anyway, looks like a real fighter that blog.
