Slumdog Millionaire – excellent movie

If there is only one “Indian” movie that you have to watch this year or in your lifetime, then let it be Slumdog Millionaire.

The movie has the gripping effect and powerful love story, watch the first 10 minutes and you don’t want to stop it. My wife and I watched it during the CNY holidays and we were blown away.

Actually the movie is produced by Briton Danny Boyle, who also produced the critically-acclaimed Trainspotting. Technically, this is not a Bollywood movie. So my wife and I can still say we don’t watch Bollywood movies hehe.

The story revolves around one boy growing up in the slums of Mumbai, India and his search for his true love. Little-known actor Dev Patel narrates throughout the movie, even though softly spoken manage to capture the feelings, struggle and pain of his character, Jamal.

The funniest part of the movie is also the grossest, where Jamal asks for Amitabh Bachan’s autograph.

Jamal was covered in ……..??? Hahaha. Watch it and you know.

Touching scene, with the background music “Latika’s Theme”, this is a tearjerker. I love the movie so much, I got the soundtrack by A. R. Rahman already hehe.

I’d give this movie a rating of 4 out of 5 stars! Wohooo.
