Jewel in Catholic Sabah
Posted by Jeffrey on March 17, 2009
We were pleasantly surprised when a good friend of ours told us that a picture our family was published in March’s edition Catholic Sabah. Here’s the scanned picture along with the caption (thanks Amelia!).
Baptism.. Maria Lojikim (corrected), a member of the Special Liturgy Choir, holds the baptismal Certificate of her granddaughter, Jewel Jeffrey Echun, who was baptised by Fr Cosmas Lee Jan 18, Sacred Heart Cathedral. Lojikim sang at her granddaughter’s baptism.
Those in the picture (L to R): Juklin (sis in law), Agnesia (Jewel’s Godmother), my mother-in-law, my wife Jo with Jewel and my mom with the certificate.
My mom is in the choir and when her leader asked for a picture, which she gave the above. Little did we know that it was used later in the news.
Wah lucky lah Jewel, a few months’ old and already made it in the news, along with her full name lagi tu! The following is the original picture.

Since you are a Christian, I wonder if you could explain the trinity concept?

Curious – yes I’m a Christian but that doesn’t mean I can answer your question but I’ll try. The trinity in the Christian sense of religion is that our Father, Son/Jesus and Holy Spirit are one God. They are 3 different persons but are actually One.
We cannot understand this as they are Heavenly beings, which we don’t have any clear understanding of. Our knowledge is limited to what we see, learn and experience in this world, so obviously we will have a hard time understanding things beyond our world. I can type as much as I want but it will not make sense to anyone.
However, though I myself don’t understand or cannot explain it, it requires faith to know and believe in it.
Hope that is a good introduction or summary if you will hehe. Peace be with u!
