LBC Graduation Night

Date Posted by Jeffrey on December 7, 2009

On Halloween night, when other people were dressing up as ghouls, the parents of LBC Kindergarten 2 preschoolers were dressed up for the school’s graduation night.

It was a proud moment for us and all parents alike to see their kids graduating from kindergarten, next year all these innocent and fun-loving miniature humans will start serving prison time we adults call school. They have to be ready for class by 7am already as opposed to 8.15am currently in the kindergarten, I can already imagine my sleepy face when sending Jordan to school next year.

The event was held in Sabah Trade Centre, Likas and there were a few highlights we were waiting for, apart from Jordan receiving the graduation scroll, he was also the recipient of the Super Reader Award which was a special recognition to those who are advanced in the reading module (he can read until module 15 whereby the minimum is module 10. Only 12 or so children received this award), one dance routine and also hearing his voice booming through the speakers during the concert because he was narrating the play! It was already recorded at school.

One minor blip happened that night though, during the presentation of the graduation scroll by the invited guest, one kid was missing from the queue. His name was called twice but he was not in the line to receive the scroll.

Yes you guessed it, it was Jordan. They found him playing outside of the hall with his friends. Apparently he was already in the queue waiting to get on stage but somehow got into a chasing game with one of his classmates who has already received his papers. The queue actually started from the foot of the stairs and extended outside of the hall through a door that was nearby.

So Jordan was standing outside of the hall and just lost focus. This wouldn’t have happened if his name starts with “A” :P

Okay well anyway, my wife (who was carrying Jewel) and my father-in-law joined in the impromptu “search and rescue” team. I was already standing right in front of the stage ready to take photo so I just stayed put. He finally received his scroll when they called out his name again at the end of the list.

The scroll finally reached Jordan’s hands

Somehow, my wife and I kinda expected things like this from Jordan. Not that we expect him to make some scenes but if he indeed made some headlines, we will not be surprised.

Those who knows us and especially has had encounters with Jordan would know how he is – energetic, loud, talkative, expressive, friendly and active. So you’d understand.

Later that night we didn’t scold him but we reminded him that he needs to be focused and listen to instructions. So I just hope he can improve in this area.

Anyway he and his mates had a great time dancing on stage, I will post his performance video soon! Meanwhile, check out all of the pictures in the following slideshow or go to our album online.
